Hi Lauren! I love the relaxation cds, and especially your hypnotic voice. ‘Holding You’ from Rejuvenation is one of my favourite tracks off all the albums, and the singing and production of that song is just amazing. There’s no doubt that Matty is an awesome performer on his own, but your own special talents add a fullness and depth to Tribal Groove that allows you to take your music in many new directions. You and Matty are just lovely people with beautiful spirits, and that shines through in your fantastic music. Looking forward to all your new music!! Lots of love, Geoff
PS. I want a Tribal Groove t-shirt!
During this time, Lauren released a single titled “Oblivious” for which a film clip was developed and filmed in Queensland. Craving the warmer weather, Lauren moved back to the Sunshine Coast where she sang and played guitar at restaurants and cafes.
In 2007, Lauren played the support act for Canadian folk artist Ember Swift on her Australian tour. Having recently met Matt James through mutual friends, Lauren performed with Matt for the event; Lauren on acoustic guitar and vocals, Matt on percussion and didgeridoo. Later that year, Lauren’s love for music was overshadowed by her passion for yoga. The next two years were spent studying and teaching yoga and meditation.
In 2008, Lauren and her sister Alexi, co-wrote and developed a kid’s yoga dvd titled “The Storybook of Zen”.
In 2009, Lauren and Matt crossed paths again. Their mutual love of music grew into a love for each other. They soon began writing and performing music together and regularly toured the east coast of Australia at various markets and festivals.
In 2010, they toured Canada playing at festivals with producer and musician friend Matt Aichison (Favourite Son). On tour they become engaged in Montreal.
By 2012, Lauren and Matt were married and established their label Tribal Groove. Lauren began working in the studio, recording, mixing and arranging tracks. This saw the release of their first album together “Rejuvenation”. In 2014, Lauren continued her new found love of studio production and they released their second album titled, “Tranquility“.
The following year Lauren recorded and co-produced an album for fellow Sunshine Coast musicians AZ.U.R titled “B.AZ.U.R”.
In 2016, Lauren and Matt co-wrote and produced “Dreamtime” with Matt Aitchison, invigorating their sound with electro / trance beats.
